Children's Summer Reading Program Calendar
Teens too are invited to "Make Waves" each week reading for free books and other giveaways. Easley will be hosting weekly events for teens each Tuesday.

The Last Song
Rated: PG
Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, The Last Song follows Ronnie and her estranged father as he tries to restore the loving relationship they once had. But reconnecting with his rebellious daughter isn't easy, so he chooses the one thing they still have in common -- music.

The Ghost Writer
Rated: PG-13
When a gifted ghostwriter is hired to write the memoirs of former British Prime Minister Adam Lang, he quickly finds himself trapped in a web of political and sexual intrigue. Lang is implicated in a scandal over his administration's harsh tactics, and as the ghostwriter digs into the politician's past, he discovers secrets that threaten to jeopardize international relations forever.

Furry Vengeance
Rated: PG
Dan just moved his wife and son to the woods to take a new job with a supposedly eco-friendly housing development. But the fur, and Dan's temper, is sure to fly when the local critters learn of the bleak plans for their forest home and stop at nothing to halt construction.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Rated: PG
Greg Heffley is headed for big things, but first he has to survive the scariest, most humiliating experience of any kid's life - middle school! That won't be easy, considering he's surrounded by hairy-freckled morons, wedgie-loving bullies and a moldy slice of cheese with nuclear cooties!

Death at a Funeral
Rated: R
Death at a Funeral is a hilarious day in the life of an American family that has come together to put a beloved husband and father to rest. As mourners gather at the family home, shocking revelations, festering resentments, ugly threats, blackmail and a misdirected corpse unleash lethal and riotous mayhem.

The Back-Up Plan
Rated: PG-13
After years of dating, Zoe has decided waiting for the right one is taking too long. Determined to become a mother, she commits to a plan, makes an appointment and decides to go it alone. That same day, Zoe meets Stan - a man with real possibilities. Trying to nurture a budding relationship and hide the early signs of pregnancy becomes a comedy of errors for Zoe and creates confusing signals for Stan. When Zoe nervously reveals the reason for her unpredictable behavior, Stan commits fully and says he's in. Never before has love seen a courtship where a wild night of sex involves three in a bed - Stan, Zoe and the ever-present massive pregnancy pillow. Or, where 'date night' consists of being the 'focal point' at a near-stranger's water birth which does for kiddie pools what ""Jaws"" did for swimming in the ocean. The real pregnancy test comes when both of them realize they really don't know each other outside of hormonal chaos and birth preparations. With the nine month clock ticking, both begin to experience cold feet. Anyone can fall in love, get married and have a baby but doing it backwards in hyper-drive could be proof positive that they were made for each other.

Do you have any old (or even not-so-old) photographs of Pickens County people or places? We would like to take a look and consider them for our collection. Generally, we are looking for pre-1980 photos of schools, churches, historic homes, prominent persons, public events and commercial and government buildings. You do NOT have to donate your photos. We can return them after they have been scanned. Also, any information about the photo is especially helpful. We have several unidentified photos in our Flickr collection, so play detective with us!
Check Your Attic!
The Library System and the State Archives are missing the following years of our local papers. If you have any old newspapers, please consider donating them to the library to fill the gap for our researchers.
